Competitions
Brief descriptions of some of the competitions that will take place at Expo 2009 are below. These competitions range from giving you the opportunity to engineer a solution the day you attend or build something prior to Expo 2009 for one of our school student competitions and then compete during Expo.
If you are a student or group of students interested in competing in one of our two competitions that require preparation before Expo, please register now so that we may provide you with additional information including details on competition requirements and assistance available for groups entering a competition.

Competition Information
All of the events require some form of registration in order to participate. The guidelines are as follows:
Scavenger Hunt
Visit exhibits and presentations and enter a drawing to win a prize
All answer sheets must be turned in by 12:45 PM to be accepted for this competition. The winner will be announced at 1:00 PM. No late entries will be accepted.
Sudoku Competition
Presented By 
Complete a puzzle as quickly as possible to be the Sudoku champion
Registration will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 10:45 AM. Competition begins at 11:00 PM. No late entrants will be accepted.
Cross-the-Divide
Cross a 20 foot area without touching the ground given limited supplies
Registration will begin at 9:00 AM and continue throughout the day until all time slots are filled. Registration will be taken on a first come, first served basis. The registration table will be located directly outside the entrance to the Mechanical Engineering building.
Egg Drop
Construct a container to drop an egg one story without breaking the egg
Registration will begin at 9:00 AM and continue throughout the day until all time slots are filled. Registration will be taken on a first come, first served basis. The registration table will be located directly outside the entrance to the Mechanical Engineering building.
Marble Design
Create a marble system to accurately time a one minute period
This is the ONLY competition where pre-registration is necessary. Any group wishing to participate must register by Monday, April 6th and no late entries will be accepted.
Robotics Competition
Design, construct and program a robot for a head-to-head object finding competition with various bonus points hidden throughout the three dimensional course.

Scavenger Hunt Rules
To be involved in this competition you simply have to be an active participant in exhibits at Expo. There will be a sheet with questions and pencils at entrances to Expo and at help desks throughout the Expo. Each question relates to one of the exhibits at Expo and you will need to visit at least 10 of the exhibits and answer 10 questions to be eligible for the prize. Drawing for the prize will occur at 1:00 PM and all entries need to be turned in by 12:45 PM. The Scavenger Hunt competition will run Thursday and Friday.
